Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect, holy, and eternally co-existing in three persons–Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent.

We believe the Bible, both the Old and the New Testament, is the Word of God. We believe the Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant and trustworthy Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of human beings, and the final authority for all matters about which it speaks.

God the Father – We believe in God the Father, who is the infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He mercifully concerns Himself in the affairs of mankind; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ -We believe Jesus is God. He was the Word of God “in the beginning”. He freely laid aside His glory, humbled Himself and became incarnate as a man: conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. He is God’s only begotten, or “Fathered”, Son. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles and infallibly taught the truth. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and mankind.

The Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit is God. He came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. (John 16:8) The Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration and sanctification for believers in Jesus Christ. He teaches, comforts, guides, convicts and enables believers to live in honor to God. He empowers believers for ministry and indwells everyone who places their faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in the present and interactive ministry of the Holy Spirit, and in all the spiritual gifts described in the Bible, which He continues to give today.

The Atonement – We believe the death of Jesus Christ on the cross made full atonement for our sins. He had no sin and did not deserve punishment but He suffered the wrath that we deserved because of our sins. He chose to give up His life so that a New Covenant between God and mankind could be established, by way of His death, His shed blood. His sacrifice provides the only ground for justification, sanctification, and glorification to all who put their faith in Him.

Christ’s Resurrection – We believe that He was buried for three days and three nights and afterward was bodily resurrected from the dead, as foretold in Scripture. He appeared to His disciples over 40 days time and then ascended into Heaven. He now sits at the right hand of God the Father, forever making intercession for His people. His resurrection is the guarantee of the resurrection to eternal life for all who put their faith in Him.

Salvation-We believe that a person is ‘saved’ by God’s grace through faith.  By accepting and confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, admitting our sin and asking Him to forgive us, and putting our faith in Him, we are regenerated through the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. This results in a spiritual rebirth as we become a new creation in Him.
